20 years

As I sit here being responsible for the first time in ... oh lets just not think about it... I'm thinking of my wonderful husband and how he has always taken care of me.  He's put up with a lot from me. I'm very self-absorbed. I used to say I was very selfish and self-centered too, but I think I'm not as selfish as I am just self-absorbed.  I think about myself first always, but when I don't think of myself, I'm not so self-centered as to put aside my needs and wants for the good of someone else.  But, enough about me. This is about my husband. My husband who has saved me more times than I can count.  Just this week alone he saved me once, every day - that's 7 times.  Sure, maybe a day went by when he didn't help me out, but there were days he did help me out more than once, so I'm rounding it up to once a day ;)  I remember times I was so stressed and and freaked out that I would tell him I couldn't handle it.  He would fix it like magic.  My husband is magical.  His old boss called him an Angel and I believe that's true.  Sure, he irritates me.  That's what spouses do. But, he warms my heart when I think of those times I was freaking out and he just said "don't worry about it" and took care of it.  the problem went *poof*.  Our problems these days are few and far between, but he's always there for me and takes phenomenal care of me.  I'm a really lucky girl!

Without Jobs, we all fail

Apple lost $52 billion in value today.  More than target, nike, starbucks and costco are worth individually (Source: NBC News with Brian Williams).

What does this mean? Without Steve Jobs, Apple is nothing.  I also think that even if Steve Jobs were still alive, Apple still would be failing, although not at such an accelerated rate.  Apple was an innovator in unbelievable proportions.  But, their ideas have dried up.  While Samsung may have stolen ideas from Apple, Samsung has modified and in some cases, improved upon it.  Apple is frozen in time.  They aren't innovating anymore. iPhone 5? It's a taller iPhone 4.  What else does it have? What has Apple created lately? And as we all know, if you aren't moving forward, you are moving backward.  

My phone (OS by Google, phone by Samsung), however, is fully customizable. Which means someone out there who is smarter than me and has a Droid, could, one day, help a company other than Apple improve. Apple doesn't believe in collaboration. And now that Apple doesn't innovate anymore, it cannot move forward.

So I say, we will miss you Steve Jobs, but it seems you got out just in time. RIP

Beyonce, Beyonce, Beyonce SMH

They are still talking about her lip syncing.  Do you think it's a big deal?  Let me tell you what I think. Hey, if you don't want to hear it, you don't have to read this, because it is my blog after all, and you are here to read it. Your choice.


How's this for a theory:  Beyonce, a phenomenal talent, is not that good of a singer and so she had to lip sync. I hear you saying "what the ..."  but hear me out. You may not have the opinion that she has an odd voice, but lots of people do think this. She is sorta flat in a sharp kinda way. Something about her voice isn't quite right, but there is something that's amazing. It's indescribable. Which is one reason she has made it.  She writes her own songs, is a phenomenal dancer,  artist and business woman. It's her "show" that is just amazing. Even if she just had an average voice ... oh, like Lady Gaga, she's still a talent to be reckoned with.  I am quite sure that there are no better concerts than that of Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Madonna (in her younger years) and Michael Jackson. And maybe others that I can't think of right now...

But, to lip sync?  Really??? How insecure and/or vain are you? Can't stand the thought of sounding like crap? Aretha did it, why can't you?  

Although, I have to admit that because of Beyonce's lip syncing, I'm more educated on the difficulty of singing in cold weather.  Had she sung like shit, I probably just woulda said .. damn that sucked!  But now I know, had she sung like shit it probably would have been because of the weather. So, thank you Beyonce, for educating me. I now know not to sing outside in the cold. Except, when I used to go christmas carrolling, I don't recall having voice problems in winter.

Hey! I heard that! So what if I grew up in Florida! I'm still entitled to my opinion. And, I think Beyonce wasn't secure enough in her own singing talent to do it live.  It's sad.

Called it!!

Beyonce was lip syncing!!!  As she started singing, I knew right away.  My Sister in Law disagreed.  Alas, today I've been validated. I love validation.

I started today feeling really cranky.  Then I got into the kitchen and saw cake balls!! I have the best co-workers! How did she know????  A few cake balls later and my mood was much improved.

Inauguration Day

I haven't blogged in awhile (did you notice?). It figures that today I've decided to blog. I have so many political thoughts in my head. Things I've said many times. I wish I had more readers. I wish Republican lawmakers would read my blog. But, they wouldn't listen anyway. They don't care about the people. I wish Kanye would get on TV and repeat his favorite line, with a few modifications: change George Bush to Republicans and remove the word 'black'. "REPUBLICANS DON'T CARE ABOUT PEOPLE". With this gun debate I am starting to think even that isn't right. Change Republicans to Politicians.

Assault weapons ban: No one is trying to take away your right to bear arms. There is just no reason to have a weapon shoot 10 bullets in a second. It's common sense! We are trying to protect the people from the wackos. Which, yes, mental health also must be addressed WHEN we ban multi-clip weapons.

Gay rights: the Declaration of Independence says: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. I don't care what the bible says, the Declaration of Independence says it all. When will we stand by what it says and stop judging people based upon their race, religion, language, opinion? Bringing the bible into it, the bible says Judge not, that you be not judged. Do you really want to be judged? I don't. I'm hard enough on myself. I don't need other people judging me, do you? Stop being a hypocrite.

Speaking of the Declaration of Independence, did you know that it says: That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness? Why aren't we getting rid of the lobbyists. The ones that are corrupting our politicians. The NRA, who are so blatantly corrupt that if you aren't on their A list, you will fail as a politician. The Newtown kids have magnified how corrupt out government is. It became abundantly clear when the politicians didn't jump up and say "NEVER AGAIN" and instead DEFENDED assault weapons, the government is not working for the benefit of WE,THE PEOPLE.

I'll end with a comment on Michelle Obama's haircut (cuz as a girl I think it's required):
