Why I dislike Ann Curry immensely
I love the fact that Ann Curry is so compassionate and caring. You can tell how compassionate she is when her empathy just spills over screen as she so syrup-ly tells the poor family she's interviewing how sad it is that they have had to suffer in such a heinous way. Unfortunately, I find her empathy quite annoying. The first thing you learn when you go to broadcast school (did I tell you I went to school to work in Radio and Television? Yeah, a lot of good that bachelor's degree did, but I digress ...) is that you cannot show your emotions. Are you a Republican? Democrat? Don't let your viewers know your position. Don't slant your story in favor of your view. As a reporter, take the middle of the road. Never let 'em see you sweat ... err your opinion. Ann Curry commits broadcast treason every day. And now, they are making her the head of the Today Show. Sorry, now you've lost a viewer. In fact, upon the announcement, I immediately switched to ABC. I'm really enjoying George and Robin. I always knew I would, but didn't dislike Meredith Vieira's ditzy persona enough to change channels. And now, here we are... I still love you Matt Lauer, and I will still watch and read my hilariously humble Brian Willams. Why oh why couldn't Natalie Morales have replaced Meredith and how long will I have to wait for her to take her turn atop the perch of Today? I await the day I can turn back to Today...

I have found a new blogger that has captured my attention like no other. See, I'm sure you realize, based on the fact that I'm always reading RSS Feeds, that I read a lot. Because I read a lot, I only skim the stories. But, as I was reading my Wonkette feed, Riley Waggaman wrote a Goodbye piece from which I could not pull myself away. So, I did the only natural thing, I googled Riley Waggaman. What did I find? This wonderful piece on how Ann Curry is an idiot. Ok, okay, so those aren't his words. But, this story just makes me laugh. It validates my opinion that I've always had and now it makes me wonder if all her compassion really isn't just pandering. I would say I hate Ann Curry, but that's impolite... you shouldn't hate anyone. But, I hate Ann Curry. If I ever meet her I might throw up sugar on her.
Something I learned:
Riley Waggaman exists. He may be the only other writer, other than Brian Williams, that I will stop and take the time to comprehend the entire story. So far, I'm hooked.

to Mr. Stella
You are always so kind and comment on my blogs. I'm glad I met you on the roads called Waze. I'm jealous of your crown and am convinced I will look as good when I finally get mine in another 6000+ points. Sigh ... it is taking way longer than my sword, but I'm a girl and girls don't do swords. At least this girl doesn't. I want that damned crown!!
Anyway, you once commented about a TV show called "The Top Two Percent". I need more information. What channel is it on and how do you have time to watch it when you are always playing Words With Friends? And uh ... officially, I am stating here, I *do NOT* always win! There, that makes it official :)
You asked me to talk more about my charity. Well, I would, but I've done nothing with it since I created it on www.Giveback.org. Typical, if I can't skim the directions, I will just move on. And I did. Maybe if I did more shopping online...
You were very supportive when I put my blog on hiatus. I appreciate you telling me my blog wasn't all that negative. Maybe it was just my mind, but really, I was so incredibly MissRable that if there was any positivity, I didn't notice. But, thank you.
I will see you on the RoadWaze ;)

Blog revamp
I enjoy blogging. I know that only a few people read my blog and really when I first came up with my New Years resolution to blog it was for me more than anyone else. As a person who is pretty miserable, I felt keeping track of daily positive things would help give me a brighter outlook. It worked for awhile, but then reality set in and my mind fell back to the negativity of life making it impossible to blog an awesome daily moment. That task and that task alone got me stuck and stopped me from blogging. However, I still read poignant (not always positive) things every day, and although I haven't done a photo every day, I've noticed opportunities of photos I could share. I've actually missed blogging. So, I've been thinking, maybe I'll just take out the awesome daily moment, especially when I don't have one. Hey, it's a fact, not every day is a good day, right? Like today, where I have this cough from hell and when I made a phone call today, they thought I was some gay guy on the phone. LOL In a few days my voice will go from sounding like a guy to sounding sexy. I'll have to make a few calls, I think. My friend Jeff loves my voice as it is. I think I'll have to call and leave some obscure type of message on his voicemail... won't say who I am... he'll share it with Tiffani and then when they realize it's me we will all laugh about it! Now to think up what i'll say.... (yes, i'm posting this as a reminder to myself to call Jeff in a couple days. I know if I don't write it down I'll forget and miss a great opportunity for a good laugh). I guess that will be my awesome daily moment that day :P

I read this awesome article about this kid who may have found a cure for Cystic Fibrosis using a super computer. That's soooo cool!
A photo today (or not):
I'll start taking photos again. I missed an opportunity over the last few days .. I thought to myself "wow that would be a great photo, but I'm not blogging so I won't bother". Now I wish I had so I could share the old photos here. Oh well... Next time maybe

Blog Hiatus
Well, they say we never keep our new years resolutions. Here's where I give up mine ... I've decided to take a hiatus from my blog. Lately, I've just been posting negative entries. I haven't had an awesome reason to smile lately. In fact, I'm finding all I do is whine .. day after day. I'm kinda sick of myself at this point. I need to try to get my positive attitude back, but it's just so hard with the changes that have come my way over the past couple weeks. I'll be back when I have something positive to say.
Awesome moment that made me smile:

Blog 5/16/11
I haven't blogged in awhile. I've had a very very busy week. I can't believe how busy I've been. Have you missed me?
Awesome moment that made me smile:
I have been so frustrated with the way things are at work that it's a rare day I have an awesome moment. I'm constantly seeing people getting hired in other departments but I'm left to fend for myself. I'm told when we start getting more work from our clients, then we will do more hiring. However, at that point, it will be too late. How will I have time to keep up with the work I have to do and train someone to do the job. How much blood can they really get out of me? I feel unappreciated and used and abused. I guess this is normal. I'm just frustrated. I'm tired of being told "I'll help you, I'll help you" only to then be brought something "will you go scan this"? "Will you file this?" Really?? Really? Thanks for the help (not). I'm over it...
point out something poignant I read:
Majority Leader John Boehner was saying recently that the government couldn't mess around with "the people's money". That's what he called it ... "the people's money". I about choked. This man, who wants to cut funding to programs to help the needy, cut social security, cut medicare ... things that our tax dollars are intended for, says the government needs to be responsible with "the people's money". Well, I would like "my" money to be there when I retire, so please use my tax dollars to bolster social security and medicare, and while you're at it, feel free to help the needy and challenged individuals in the public social programs.
Something I learned:
So, Meredith Vieira is definitely stepping down. On top of that Ann Curry is replacing her. Well, upon that news I have officially quit watching The Today Show. Sorry Matt, I will miss you. But, I have been enjoying watching George Stephanopoulis and Robin Roberts. It's nice to watch an entire team I respect. So far I haven't screamed at my tv once this week. aaahhhhh
A photo today (or not):
Took a photo of our favorite cop pulling someone over again. Unfortunately, I deleted it. whoops! Oh well, I did take a photo of my new office. Just need to get my pictures on the wall, instead of on the floor...
May add things
As indicated above, I got moved into a new office. Of course, I have the worst view of all offices... I get to look at a wall. ::sigh:: At least I have a job. I guess that's my takeaway...

Awesome moment that made me smile:
It's Saturday. Sleeping in from lost sleep during the week is happiness number one. Shopping all day is happiness #2. I used to think I hate doing these things alone. And yes, there are those moments I still feel that way. But, if i was with someone I probably wouldn't shop the way I like and would miss a lot of things that totally have my name on them. I have those things today. Something to look forward to... wearing them and using them.
point out something poignant I read:
Donald Trump is a laughing stock and what's truly ironic about it is that he doesn't get it. Does he really think the jokes about his hair are veiled compliments? Well, they aren't, and he's an idiot. More and more every day, he proves he's a joke.
Something I learned:
I turned my brain off today. I'm just here to enjoy myself :)
A photo today:
I'm sure you are familiar with those signs on the highway letting you know of amber/silver alerts as well as the time it will take to get from A to B. Well. yesterday morning on my way to work I saw this sign and thought "what the ...."
until today, on my way to do some shopping, I saw this:
suddenly it all made sense....

My husband is away this weekend on his annual golf outting with our nephew. They always manage to clean up with the raffles at these charity golf tournaments. Unfortunately, this time they aren't playing in a charity event. But, hopefully they are having fun anyway.

Awesome moment that made me smile:
This week has been very nice with friends visiting and a someone easy time at work. Well, not easy, but my boss figured out a way to reduce the pressure on me and it's been really great. I've had time to run errands after work and work out some. The working out part is pretty good because I really need to. I hate doing it, but it's a necessary evil. As my friend H used to say, I like to eat, so I have to work out.
point out something poignant I read:
I've mentioned more than once that I read RSS feeds daily of some of my favorite sites. Currently, I have 5300 feeds to read. So, how ironic is it that I came across an article giving 8 Useful Tips To Manage And Avoid RSS Overload. Some tips just don't work for me.. like "mark all as read". Really??? I don't think my hand would be able to be steady on the "mark all as read" button. One thing that annoys me about Google Reader versus, say, my outlook, is I can't sort by title. it would save me a ton of time if I could just do a search for say "bin ladin" and mark all those as read, because now that he's dead ... what more do I really care? So, I'm stuck reading the feeds one by one. Unless someone knows a Google reader trick I'm missing....
Something I learned:
I'd like to learn how to sort by subject in Google Reader. I guess I'll Google it. ok ... no such luck :(

Awesome moment that made me smile:
This week has been a very busy weekend. Yesterday we worked the March of Dimes walk. As a person who just walked a 5k two weeks ago, I can tell you that working a 5K (setting up tables, decorations and feeding people) is way harder than walking the 5k! You probably think I'm crazy for saying that, but I promise you, it's true. I was so exhausted that today I took a 3 hour nap on the couch. I wouldn't normally say that's a big deal. But, a friend of my husband's flew into town from New Jersey this morning, only to enjoy such phenomenal entertainment as watching me nap! From what I could tell, he was really intrigued by my nap because he took one too!
point out something poignant I read:
Do you think there is a chance that Katie Couric is going to go back to the Today Show? I would love to see that! I don't think it's in the cards. I read some rumors that Meredith Vieira is thinking about leaving the Today Show. This would be so great, but I wonder if this rumor is out there solely because Katie has now made it official that she's leaving CBS News. Would Vieira actually leave? I hope so. I hate her on the show. The bad news is Ann Curry is going to take her slot (based on the rumors). If Ann Curry becomes the co-anchor, I will start watching ABC in the morning. George Stephanopolis isn't bad. Is he doing Good Morning America? I guess I learn that fact when I really need to know it.
Something I learned:
I'm a paper piler. I totally live "out of sight, out of mind". My sister-in-law noticed this years ago, but I digress. I am also afraid to throw papers away because I may make a mistake or miss an opportunity. So, If I spend time reading Paper Piling, Horizontal Filing, and Other Filing Options and implement the hints, I might be able to get my place organized once and for all. The problem is there is just so much paper and so little time. I'd love to hire a professional organizer. I need my laundry room, home office, and many of my husband's drawers and hiding places cleaned out.
A photo today (or not):
Seeing as how I really just napped all day, I have no photos. Unless you want to see me napping. But, then I can't take a picture of myself while I'm sleeping.
